Our Services
Wellness care
When it comes to your pet, an ounce of prevention is truly worth a pound of cure. We place a heavy emphasis on the patient's history (what you tell us, lifestyle, etc.), physical examinations twice a year, and preventative lab work (fecal, heartworm test, and a full panel of bloodwork), and preventative medications such as flea/tick and heartworm/intestinal parasite medications. This allows Dr. Walker and staff to plan and act proactively in the prevention of disease and management of chronic conditions.
General Medicine
This includes diagnosis and treatment of conditions involving any organ system. We have state of the art, up to date equipment including a full lab that allows us to diagnose in a matter of minutes. We also have digital radiology and an ultrasound machine to perform quick scans. Treating disease is never easy, but we guide you through the management of your pet’s illness so that you fully understand and have all treatment options presented to you. We also have a full pharmacy in house and an online store so you always know you are getting quality medication when your pet needs it.
General Surgery and Dentistry
We perform most general outpatient procedures such as spays/neuters, growth removals, abdominal exploratories, vulvoplasty, and some minor ophthalmic procedures. We also perform dental cleanings with an ultrasonic scaler and have the ability to remove any diseased teeth we find.
Orthopedic Surgery
We perform two orthopedic procedures in our hospital. We are able to stabilize torn CCLs with an Arthrex Tightrope and we are also able to stabilize luxating patellas. Dr. Walker will examine a patient before scheduling the surgery to make sure our procedure is the best fit for the patient. All other orthopedic procedures, or any patient that we do not think will do well with our procedures, we will recommend referral to a specialty hospital for further treatment.
Senior Care
We classify senior as any patient over 8 years of age. For these patients, we recommend full lab work yearly, which includes a full panel of bloodwork, a urinalysis, and a fecal/heartworm check. This allows us to find any issues, and address them accordingly, as quickly as possible. These patients may require more frequent visits to manage any ongoing or chronic issues.
End of Life Care
Saying goodbye to a family member is the toughest decision you will have to make as a pet owner. During this time, we are here to help guide you through the decision making and make sure you understand what is best for your pet. To us, this is the most important visit you will have with us and is always our top priority. We strive to make this visit as comfortable as possible for you and your pet and encourage you to bring anything that makes it easier. We talk you through the process and the aftercare and answer any questions you may have. We offer cremation though Good Shepherd cremation services.
After Hours Services
We offer emergency stabilization care for our clients during the day when time allows. After hours, we offer 24/7 guidance through Guardian Vets. Just call our main number 24/7 and press 1 to speak with a Certified Veterinary Technician for guidance. If your pet has had surgery with us that week, they will push through to Dr. Walker. Otherwise, we use Upstate Vet for all specialities and after-hours care, and Fetch for any emergencies and Urgent Care during business hours.
